Quetzal

What the fck is a quetzal you ask?!

Why, they're the lovely national bird of Guatemala of course! These beautiful beasts are known for their spectacular colouring and long tails that grow to be up to a metre long.

Like most of the wicked creatures worth talking about, the Quetzals are threatened with extinction. They can't be bred or held in captivity for very long and are noted for usually commiting suicide soon after being captured or caged.

For this reason it is a traditional symbol of liberty. VIVA LA QUETZAL

Additional Fun Fact: Guatemalan currency is named after the quetzal.
